Fight with words
Every battle gives you a row of letters. Build a word from them and every letter lands as a strike.
- Longer words hit harder, and a lucky strike can turn critical.
- Bonus letters add extra damage when you work them into your word.
- The monsters fight back: they poison, curse and lock your letters to break your rhythm.

Two heroes, two destinies
The Brawler hits with raw force. The Initiate fights with spells.
- Prove yourself in a promotion quest and the Brawler becomes a Monk, the Initiate a Wizard, each with special skills of their own.
- Skill books grant permanent upgrades. Read once, kept for good.
- Play on Easy or Normal, or choose Hardcore: one life, no second chances.

A story told through quests
You wake in the dark with no hands and no feet. The only voice that answers is the Oracle, and its quests carry the story forward, floor by floor.
- Story quests that lead you deeper into the mystery of the Tome, and dreams that may not be dreams at all.
- Hunting quests that send you after named monsters.
- Bounty targets: wanted outlaws with a price on their heads.

Loot worth fighting for
A rich item database with rarities from common to legendary and unique.
- Weapons, armour, runes, charms and relics, each with properties to hunt for.
- Reroll properties at the Enchanting Table, raise items with Starstones, salvage what you do not need.
- Try your luck with the Gamble, or open the Ancient Vault with rare keys and tokens.
- Keep your best finds in the inventory and stash, and let your gold grow in the Bank.

The Arena
Beyond the gate at the Rest Point waits the pit. Show an Arena Token to the Arena Master, and the pit chooses which champion you face.
- Fight uber bosses far stronger than anything in the dungeons.
- Each entry costs a token. Fall, and the token is lost. In Hardcore, so is your hero.

Eight dungeons deep
From the Spider Cave and the Thief Hideout down to the Dragon Cave, every dungeon has its own monsters, rooms and atmosphere.
- Rare monsters, minibosses and bosses guard the way, each with their own attacks.
- Rest Points every five floors with the Oracle, the Trader and the Arena gate.
- At the very bottom, the Book of Evil itself is waiting.
